How to Password Protect your Microsoft Word 2010 Document

f you have some important and confidential information in your Microsoft Word 2010 documents, you don’t want anyone to open and see that document. Using Microsoft Word 2010 built-in password Encryption feature, you can password protect your Microsoft Word 2010 Document. The following steps will lead you, how to use this feature:
1 – Open or Create Microsoft Word 2010 document. Click on File Tab at upper left corner of your document, then click on Info option > Protect Document option under Permissions.

2 – After clicking on Protect Document option, you can see a Menu. Select Encrypt with Password option form the Menu.

3 – Now Encrypt Document Dialog will appear. Set the password for your document under Password Field and click OK Button.

4 – Then Confirm Password Dialog will open. Confirm your document Password by re-entering it in Reenter Password Field and click OK Button.

5 – After password protecting your document, save the changes by pressing CTRL+S Buttons from your keyboard or go to File Tab of your document and click Save option.
6 – Your document has now been Password Protected and you can see the following message under Permissions “Password is required to open the following Document”.
